Another excellent breakfast was hosted on 4/27 by the Knights of Council 511. Ritchie Fierros was again at the helm with assistance from “Biscuit” Bill Moore, Tom “Gravy Chief” Fahrenkrug, Tommy Davis, Norm Varner, Gary Vanderhaar, Mike Araojo, Art Kelly, Bob Curtin — who did I forget? Thanks to all of you we raised over $200 for the church and fed nearly a hundred hungry folks. We even found a 1st degree Knight looking to transfer in…now, who has a form 100? Somebody should, because every program is an opportunity to recurit! Keep ’em handy!
Forty one Knights and one priest reached full knighthood as Council 511 hosted a Third Degree Exemplification on April 12th. The ceremony was by all accounts a successful one, and Ritchie Fierros and Art Kelly pulled a terrific pork barbeque together. Thanks also to brothers Mike Henry, Bill Moore, Matt Byrne, Mike Nisbet, “Old #5” Daryl Bracken, Tom Mueggenborg, Tommy Davis, and Norm Varner for their assistance.
On Sunday, March 30, the Knights of Council 511 came together to celebrate mass as a group in corporate communion. The Knights and their families occupied a large section of the side pews during the mass which was said for the Council’s intention for the unborn.
A very successful breakfast after the 7:30 and 10 am masses on March 30th brought in over $300, leaving a net of over $150 to be donated to the parish. Pancakes, eggs, potatoes, sausage, and biscuits with Tom’s famous sausage gravy were enjoyed by over 100 guests, including more than 70 at the first seating. Much thanks to Ritchie Fierros, Tom Fahrenkrug, Norm Varner, Larry Spence, Joe Poslik, Matt Barnes, and Bill Moore for making this breakfast a big success.
